Rare 1519 Illustrated Bible with Rhyming Compendiolum: Franciscus Gothi, Biblia cum summariorum: apparatu pleno quadruplicique repertorio insignita: cui ultra castigationem diligentissimam & signanter in vocabulario dictionum hebraicarum ubi pro maiori sui parte erat mendosa et Vitiosa, Printed by Jacobi Mareschal (Lugduni [Lyons]), 1519, 5 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches, Collation: Pp 30, 500, 38, 15, 1. Signatures (8°): 2a-2b8 2c4 2d8[2] a-z8 A-2Q8 2R4 ²A-D8 ²E6 ²H7 [1]. Later full leather binding, now worn and abraded, spine chipped and hinges cracked; occasional ink stains, light toning throughout; a few page corners chipped, 1 with loss, 1 with open tear. Gothic letter, in double columns, with title in red and black, and woodcuts, including a full-page illustration of the six days of creation. Device of the sacred Sudarium on the title and last leaf, with the initials P.V. Blank section of final leaf has an early drawing of a coat of arms with inscription. "Anno ... decimonono supra millesimum, decimoseptimo kalendas Novembris"--Colophon.
