Saint Francisco Borgia (1510-1572) was the great-grandson of Pope Alexander VI and cousin to the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. After the death of his wife he joined the Society of Jesus and was elected general of the Society in 1565. He was canonized on April 12, 1671 by Clement X. This short biography was published on the occasion of his canonization.
