      Painted by Angelica Kauffman. Engraved by W. Dickinson. London Published Novr. 20th: 1782 by W. Dickinson Engraver & Printseller No. 158 New Bond Street. Stipple and etching in sanguine, 430 x 320mm. 17 x 12½". Two aristocratic women posing in a classically inspired landscape. They are Henrietta Frances, Countess of Bessborough (1761 - 1821), an amateur etcher; and Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire, born Lady Georgiana Spencer, (1757 - 1806). Georgiana was a celebrated beauty and a socialite who gathered around her a large circle of literary and political figures; a salon. She was also an active political campaigner in an age when women's suffrage was still over a century away. After Angelica Kauffman (1741 - 1807).
