The book starts with the dedication (with a beautiful woodcut page border), then the index, and the two parts. Antonius Broickwy a Koningsteyn was a German author born in the vicinity of Frankfurt and living in Köln for many years. He was one of the principal 16th century anti-humanist and anti-reformatorian comment Antonius Broickwy a Koningsteyn was a German author born in the vicinity of Frankfurt and living in Köln for many years. He was one of the principal 16th century anti-humanist and anti-reformatorian commentators on the gospel of St. John (his commentary on the gospel of St. John was published in the Enorrationum as part of his exposition of the four gospels). Little research is done on catholic commentators like Broickwy and therefore little is known about the author, although his work generated considerable interest at the time.
