BÜCHSENMEYSTEREI].
Von Geschoss, Büchsen, Pulver, Salpeter und feurwergken ec. (colophon: Frankfurt on the Main, Chr. Egenolff, March 1531). 4to. With large woodcut illustration on title. Old vellum.
- 24 ll. Benzing, Egenolff Index Aurelienses, 126.593 (1 copy only, Mü); VD 16, B-9129 (same copy as I.A.). An extremely rare publication on gunpowder and military pyrotechnics. Copies of any edition are virtually unknown to bibliographers of the subject, but it appears that the work was often reprinted by Christian Egenholff and his heirs (see: J. Benzing, Chr. Eggenolff zu Strassburg und seine Drucke (1528-1530) ; Das Antiquariat X (1954), pp. 88-89, no. 13). Benzing mentions a copy of the 1529 edition and a "spätere, erweiterte Neu-ausgabe", z.B. 1597 bei Chr. Egenolffs Erben. The edition of 1531 is a reprint of the one of 1529, with the same woodcut on the title, and with the addition of a woodcut tailpiece. Tears throughout carefully repaired; some staining, but a good copy.
