Metcalf, John
An Aesthetic Underground: a Literary Memoir
Toronto: Thomas Allen, 2003. Fine Galley Proof. Fine, as bound in cerlox. One of perhaps 3 in-house first proofs. With a letter loosely inserted from Jim Gifford, Managin Editor of Thomas Allen, and a copy of Metcalf's corresponding letter, with a page marking Metcalf's corrections to the text. These corrections are marked through out in the margins in red pen. Though most of Metcalf's changes are quite minor, this copy of the first proof is still an extremely rare early state of the manuscript. These rarely come on the market, as they are often given to archives. Most of Metcalf's own manuscripts have ended up in Calgary.
