London: Printed for John Starkey, 1673. 14 pp. Quarto (7-1/2" x 5-1/2"). Contemporary calf, blind panels to boards, rebacked in period style, hinges mended. Some rubbing to extremities, a few shallow scuffs to boards, corners bumped and somewhat worn. "F. Pollock/ ex dono Caroli F. Vachell/ nuper auditoris/ Lincoln's Inn/ 1886" to front pastedown. Toning occasional dampstaining, light soiling to title page, edgewear to a few leaves of second work, which is trimmed tightly with minor loss to headlines and side-notes in a few places, minor worming to margins of final few leaves and rear pastedown. Underlining and annotations in early hand in a few places, interior otherwise clean. A copy with an appealing association. $2,250. * Fitzherbert: Later edition; Summary, first edition in this form, originally published in 1666 with a different title. First printed in 1538, Fitzherbert's manual was issued eight more times; its final edition was printed in 1617. The first edition by Crompton was published in 1583.
