Contextûs graeci litera explicatur; ejusdem phraseologia cum auctorum ethnicorum locutionibus amoenà comparatur; multorum difficilium locorum expositiones novae afferuntur, sensúsque non solà m ex christianis ecclesiae antiquissimae doctoribus, sed & ex graecis latinÃque gentium scriptoribus ubique illustratur. His accesserunt annotationes in Psalmorum.

Library stamp to title-page. Some slight chipping and creasing to several leaves. New Testament text in Greek and Latin in parallel columns, each chapter of which is followed by annotations of Price; Psalms given in Latin with interspersed annotations and references to the Greek. John Price was born in London and educated at Oxford, though he neither matriculated nor graduated due to his Catholicism. He obtained a doctoral degree abroad, probably in civil law. Later he was made a professor of Greek at the University of Pisa, where he produced most of his scriptural commentaries. These were published at London in 1660.
