In order to protect the livelihood of the Tobacco planters in Americ, and all those involved abroad in the Tobacco industry including the shipping, all growing and curing of Tobacco in the British Isles (Scotland excepted) was banned from January 1st 1660. A Public Act. Not found in Sabin.
