Cologne 1724 - One volume in 12mo; pp. (8), 352, with engraved frontispiece; contemporary full calf, raised bands, spine richly gilt in compartments with red gilt lettering-piece, minor rubbing and bumping, marbled endpapers, red edges, some browning in places, else clena and crisp, a very good copy. First published 1605 with the title "Les Hermaphrodites", this is the second edition of an imaginary voyage to the island of the hermaphrodites, an allegorical attack in the court of Henri III and European manners in general.
