Waterland, Daniel, 1683-1740, theologian, "his OCritical History of the Athanasian CreedO (Cambridge, 8vo), in which, upon an exhaustive review of the then accessible evidence, he assigned that symbol to the decade 430-40, and its composition to St. Hilary of Arles. The importance of the work was at once recognised, and a second edition was issued in 1728. ESTC t111484. Lowndes 2852.
