London, Printed by I. Dawson. Folio, 284x180mm, 454, 52 pages, in possibly later leather binding, sometime rebacked, with spine relaid. Armorial book-plate of Walter Ambrose Harding designed by M. V. Duffell, 1928, on front pastedown. Engraved title-page with various early examples of penmanship at edges. General title-page, and separate title-pages to each section. Last page of The English Gentleman has marginal ownership inscription of Carew Reynell, dated 1673. His name is also inscribed on the final page of The English Gentlewoman, on the fold-out, and on the final Table where there is also the name of John Shorter, with the same date.
