The Kings Majesties Answer to the Petition of the House of Commons, sent on Saturday last, the nine and twentieth of this instant January, 1642.

The first of five broadside versions of this text, all rare. The King answers the Commons message of the 26th January as unacceptable, in which they sought an accomodation on the question of the Tower of London and the Militia in general. Wing C2132.
