FERRIER, Auger (1513-1588)

Sixteenth century limp vellum, with the original ties, early inscription and some annotations, very good clean condition. In 1540 Ferrier, was a native of Toulouse and studied medicine at Montpellier. In 1540 he was introduced to and subsequently became medecine ordinaire to Catherine de Medicis. Ferrier established a large and successful private practice and accumulated considerable wealth. Although listed in Helbronne's French books on astrology, it is principally a medical work and discusses Galenic practice of medicine.
