Simultaneously, with a terrible pestilence which is reported to have nearly depopulated China, plague prevailed over Germany, Holland, Italy and Spain, in the first decade of the century, and revived at various times in the first half.' Zur Strafe wurde er für einige Zeit aus ser Fakultät ausgeschlossen, doch versah er später wiederholt das Dekanat. Von ihm stammt eine wegweisende Schrift: "De modo studendi et legendi in medicina" (erschienen 1519 oder 1520), die zwar kaum systematischer und wissenschaftlicher ist als der damalige Unterricht es war, aber doch manches Beachtliche und Wertvolle enthält. Ein zweites Buch von ihm: die "Anzeig wider die Petilentz" (1515) behandelt die Mittel gegen die Pest.' e
