London. Ralph Newberie. [16], engraved map, 435pp. Small quarto. First edition. Map title at top of leaf, and line of border at foot just cropped; paper fault to qqij and to page 321/2, both without loss and being clean tears probably dated from the book's printing; blank corners torn from pages 101 and 429; some contemporary annotation in the margins in ink; last leaf has a blank area of loss from the inner margin and has been stuck to the endpaper; slightly later half vellum over paper-covered boards; leather gilt label to spine. Some wear to boards and to edges; spine splitting at head and heel, but sound; bookplate of Kendrick Fr.s Saunders. Overall a very good and clean copy of the first edition. Quite difficult to procure complete.
