This edition suffers from some errors in the text, which Heinsius's son attributed to the printer. Provenience: Front free endpaper with librarystamps: "Bibliothèque de M. A. R. Both were very successful commercial establishments which carried on for generations in the same family. Elzevier texts, often in small formats, were distributed throughout Europe. This edition of Virgil was edited by Daniel Heinsius (1580-1655), was professor of Greek and Latin at Leiden and one of the most famous Renaissance scholars.Slightely worn.
