Title within fine woodcut border, on verso are four woodcuts (see below) & woodcut initials. [8] leaves. Small 4to, fine modern green morocco by Lobstein-Laurenchet, spine lettered in gilt. [Cologne: Hero Alopecius (Fuchs)], 1532. First edition of this very rare work on the astrolabe, its origins, and uses. There are many references to the Arab astronomers, Regiomontanus, and Stoeffler. Colb describes its uses in computing the movements of the stars and sun, finding time and place, and measuring altitude. The beautiful woodcut title-page border and the four fine woodcuts on the verso are by Anton Woensam.
