Portrait of Tasso; 417 + 458 pages + errata; Italian text; full vellum binding, light brown morroco leather spine labels, gilt titles and gilt ruling on spines. Almost mint condition. * Tasso (1544?1595) was an Italian poet of the 16th century. The poem "La Gerusalemme liberata" was his most well-known work, about imaginary combats between Christians and Muslims at the end of the First Crusade, during the siege of Jerusalem.
