Full old vellum, hole in vellum on front board, title on spine in manuscript. Crimson/brown edges. Very light browning and foxing, with occasional dampstains. Slight worming in lower left corners of A1-8, but never coming near to effecting text. Page 24 labelled as 42, 121 as 211, 156 as 157, 157 as 156, 228 as 230, 229 as 231, 232 as 234, and 233 as 235.. 8vo.. Printer's device (of Ottaviano Scoto II) on A1 (t.p.). Galeazzo Capella (1487-1537), a Milanese historian also known under the name of Capra, was secretary first to Jerome Morone and then to Duke Francisco Sforza II, the latter commissioning the present work. In addition to this work, he is remembered for his history of Milan (1520-31) and an account of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. EDIT 16 CNCE 9090. Index Aurel. 131.491. Not in Adams.
