AN EARLY VELLUM DOCUMENT IN ENGLISH.

THE RECORD OF A LOAN BETWEEN TWO LONDONERS.

      11 November 1535 - 18 lines in a small upright hand. With two small but intact red wax seals on their original parchment thongs one seal showing a flower its stem tied with a bow the other a shield with a flower upon it. Minor wrinkles and smudges a handful of words hard to read because of fading otherwise in excellent condition with most of the considerable text rich and clear. This document records the loan of £20 by Edward Whitlow of London to Simon Cobbe likewise of London. The text is of considerable size and the document generally quite attractive.
