Retrospective full brown morocco gilt-tooled in the Italian style, four leaves supplied from a shorter copy, four ink inscriptions on title-page (three crossed out) and one on the verso, other ink inscriptions and occasional very early annotations in the margins mostly towards the front. A beautifully restored copy by Trevor Lloyd. An important and rare early edition of Dante, being the second reprinting of the 1512 edition. The last copy at auction in the US or the UK was 1989.
