Proceedings of the first session of the Assemblée provinciale of Berri, the very first to be held as planned by Turgot and created by Necker. During the years of its existence, the Assemblée made important decisions: the corvée was abolished and in this respect Berri became the example for all other provinces; improvement of waterways, extensively dealt with in the proceedings, was promoted because of the high costs of transport by land; the new doctrine of Turgot of 'liberté du travail' was adopted.
