The Smiling Corpse
NY: Farrar and Rinehart, 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. First Edition, first printing. A mystery novel written by Philip Wylie and Bernard Bergman wherein Dashiell Hammett, G.K. Chesterton, S.S. Van Dine, and Sax Rohmer, along with the authors of the book, find themselves at the scene of a murder, with a corpse in the bathtub. Many other amusing 1930s-era cameos are sprinkled throughout the story. Some faint foxing to the boards and the jacket verso, else Near Fine in a Very Good or better dust jacket with light edgewear, slightest toning to the spine panel, and some small cellotape repairs at the verso. A very presentable copy.
