Rome, na Estamperia da Sagrada Congregaçao de Propaganda Fide, 1778. 8vo. 138 pp. Contemporary half vellum, marbled boards; old stamp on title, title somewhat waterstained. Aside from Benjamin Schultze’s Grammatica hindostanica, Halæ Saxonum 1745, and the grammar appended to John Ferguson’s A dictionary of the Hindostan language, London 1773, this is the first grammar of Hindustani printed in the West. It was twice reprinted, in 1805 and 1878.
