Nicely hand colored outlines, heavy paper, of this regional map of Canada, Lousiana Territory, and English possessins in North America. An inset with a distinct view of the mythical Mer de L'Ouest. This is from a 1778 edition (later issue) of the family's "Nouvel Atlas Portatif" (see Pedley's "Bel et Utile" re: historical details for this prominent mapmaking family). The image measures 9.5x11.5 inches.
