      London, Faber & Faber Limited,, 1935. Chapters on Children and on Childhood as it is revealed in particular in Early Memories and in Early Writings. Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered and decorated in gilt, pale blue-green endpapers, top edge gilt. Lithograph frontispiece by Barnett Freedman, 15 photographic illustrations, mostly portraits. Spine a little darkened and with a small stain, else a very good copy. First edition, second impression, presentation copy to Ottoline Morrell, with the author's inscription on the first blank, Ottoline with love from J. 1935 'I looked & listened far away / As if for what can not have been.'
