[1778]. - Printed in black and red; with Revenue Stamp to verso of title-page;[48]pp. + 2 prepared leaves for use with stylus; (as well as several blank preliminary and final leaves and blank interleaving to calendar); 32mo. [100 x 55mm]; fine contemporary crimson goatskin "cottage roof" binding gilt, with circular embossed silver clasps fastened with original silver stylus, the sides with an outer border composed of small gouge, annular, and pointille tools, the architectural elements with dotted line and pallet outlines, the central and outer reserves with small floral and leafy spray tools, the spine in five compartments within decorative rules gilt, each with leafy spray tools, all edges gilt, with double dutch floral gilt endpapers to form wallet compartments at front and rear, each with green silk folding sides, (sides lightly rubbed, silk siding folds perishing but present, biblical quotation in ink to first blank leaf, pencil annotations in a childish hand to facing blank, but overall a fine copy).
