Froben printer's mark on titlepage of caduceus held by hands with bird between two snakes + woodcut figural initial. Quarto later vellum spined boards. Titlepage (dusty & reinserted) +3-94pp +[2]pp errata (verso blank) a-m4. Faint round stamp on back of titlepage, one leaf with loss of lower corner not near text, 6 pages with old marginalia including pointing hands, faint marginal damp mark to outer margin not affecting strength of paper which is good & crisp throughout. Text in Latin with some words in Greek. *In an introductory letter written at Basel in November 1528, Cornarius dedicates this brief but comprehensive reference work on Medicine to the citizens of his birthplace Zwickau for their support during his 7 years of study. He was a physician and prolific writer on medicine and Greek philology - this is the first published of his many influential works.
