Stipple-engraved portrait by Godby after Jean Pichon, printed in colours and finished by hand, title-page, dedication, 8 hand-coloured plates with tissue guards; portrait cropped (33.5 x 23.5 cm) and mounted; waterstain, some spotting and soiling. Modern light brown calf-backed marbled paper-covered boards, spine gilt. First issue (second in 1814) of this fine collection of Russian military costumes, coloured by hand.
