A fine copy, bound in 16th century blind-stamped pigskin over wooden bds., brass clasps & catches, monogram 'M.G.' and date '1562' on covers (front joint cracked). Second Edition (?) of this handbook for confessors, written by Italian minorite Baptista De Salis (Trovamala). On the verso of the last page of the Summa Rosella appears the text of a rescript of Sixtus IV concerning the competence of confessors, dated 111. kal. ian., 1479. This same text appears in the first edition, printed at Novi in 1484, and is cited by the BMC (VII 1105) as the probable source for the two supposed editions of 1479 noted by Hain (14174-75).
