Original illustrated wrappers bound in. This copy has been inscribed on the front flyleaf, "To Ben De Casseres, Paracelsis of Quil Contributors with best wishes from The Mosses (editor and his wife) August 1919". Benjamin De Casseres (1873-1945), poet, essayist, critic and satirist, went to New York in 1899 and entered the newspaper field, he was among the contributing editors of The Quill and the July 1918 issue is designated the De Casseres number. The magazine has numerous illustrations and wonderful advertisements. Lacking the front board, rear interior and exterior hinges broken. Binding soiled w/ rub at extremities of rear board, spine lacking most of cloth. Front flyleaf chipped at fore-edge and 1 1/2" archivally repaired tear, next page w/ chip at lower corner repaired. Contents very good++.. Cloth. Good/No Dust Jacket. Illus. by Illus. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
