With two title-pages, each with the same woodcut publisher's devices, a woodcut portrait of the author, and several woodcut decorative initial letters. Nineteenth-century decorated boards, covered with manually decorated paper.

Adams M-263; Watt, Bibliotheca Britannica, col. 636.First and only edition of Majoragius's commentaries on Cicero's classic work of rhetoric, Dialogi de Oratore, whose text is included as the second part. Also included at the end of the first part (with its own divisional title) is: De Eloquentia Dialogus (7 ll.), a note on rhetoric in general. Majoragius (1514-1555) was a professor of Rhetoric at Milan University, and wrote commentaries on the works of Aristotle, Cicero, Virgil and others.Very good copy and with generous margins. Majoragius's commentary on Cicero's Dialogi de Oratore.
