      13 (=14) parts in 3 vols. Folio. Contemporary half calf; gilt spine with red morocco gilt stamped title lable. 4 engraved fronts; 598 half page engr. (two on 1 leaf); 11 doublepage engr.; 4 full page engr.; 2 folding of which one double page; in second volume 2 loose maps. Engraved after drawings by A. Rademaker, C. Pronk, H. de Winter, D. Stoopendaal, J.C. Philips, J. Punt, L. Schenk etc. 114; 114; 104 leaves. Important re-issue of the famous publications of the early 18th century in original impressions but with a new printed title, containing De geheele Vechtstroom, Spiegel van Amsterdam's zomervreugd, De vermaekelijkheid van den Diemer-meer, Het zegepralende Kennemerlant and views of Leyden, Dordrecht, Delft etc. Over 600 Dutch views of landscapes, waters, ruins, churches, fortresses, castles, estates, gardens, pleasure gardens, lanes, roads, waterways etc. All beautifully engraved by various engravers after drawings by artists, all well known in their time.title page gives an eloborate description of the well-ordered lay-out of the different views in districts, cities and estates, which are ordered in XIII main categories to simplify the use of this book. The book was meant as a memento of Holland's eminence and beauty and of the glory of country-life and the prosperity of its inhabitants. Furthermore it served as an example for the arts of drawing, painting, engraving, sculpturing, architecture and as a major and very important source for the laying out of gardens, parks and estates. Few of the engravings represent maps and 4 of the parts (III, IV and VII -2 parts-) are preceded by a beautiful engraved front. Title and all engravings are accompanied by captives in Dutch and in French.copy has an extra: the second volume contains 2 extra, loose maps: 1 plan of an area in city of Amsterdam and 1 map of `Het Watergraafs- of Diemer-Meer', a water just outside of Amsterdam.
