Full contemporary vellum, soiled, with remnants of ties, title on spine in an early hand. Hinges cracked but holding by one cord. Bookplate to front pastedown, title page mounted. Negligible worming with no loss to text. Neat early marginal annotations throughout, interior otherwise clean. * Written originally in Latin in 1523, this work contains two dialogues between a doctor of divinity and a student of English law, and is known for putting into popular form canonist learning regarding the nature and object of law, the religious and moral standards of law, and other discussions regarding the jurisdiction of Parliament.
