BONAVENTURA, Saint.
Pomum crucis,
(Venice, p[er] Simone de Luë, 1508) 8vo. 76ff. (including the final blank). Title printed in red in a cruciform shape, double columns, small lombard initials, some leaves neatly reinforced in the inner margins, a few light waterstains, in modern boards. A late, but attractive, edition of Bonaventura's Meditationes vitae Christi, first published in Augsburg in 1468, and with a fine and rather austere title-page. The text is his lengthy scholia on Matthew chapters 26 & 27, from the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot to his entombment. A curious feature of this little book is that it is quired from signature c to signature z, a feature mirrored in de Luere's register at the end. Censimento CNC 31805; not in Adams; NUC locates only the copy at the Holy Name College Library; RLIN adds the University of Florida; not in OCLC
