Mark Twain
Innocents Abroad, or the New Pilgrims Progress, 1st Edition,
|
Inside very good, a few age spots, inscription page stuck to inside cover and partially torn. Rear cover loose of binding, cover long ago reinforced with cloth tape, spine peeling, very worn but honestly in a way I find charming, it feels Samuel Clemens like, aged with character and benevolent scars.See our ratings-don't worry shop happy!Wonderful book.Great personal service gauranteed. The Innocents Abroad, Or the New Pilgrims' Progress; Being Some Account of the Steamship Quaker City's Pleasure Excursion to Europe and the Holy Land; With Descriptions of Countries, Nations, Incidents and Adventures as They Appeared to the Author
|
Hartford, Connecticut: American Publishing Company, 1869. Fair/good. No Jacket This is a copy of either the second or third state of Mark Twain's second book and first travel book, his classic satire THE INNOCENTS ABROAD, which is still worth reading and still hilarious today. Bound in oriignal brown cloth with gold lettering and decorations on front cover, back cover with blindstamped publisher's logo centered. The points are as follows: pages xvii and xviii of the contents have page numbers for the chapters, the last chapter title on page xviii ends with the word "Conclusion, " there is an engraved portrait of Emperor Napoleon III on page 129, page 643 beginning "CHAPTER XLI. ", text ending at page 651, page 654 [in the section of publisher's advertisements] beginning "PERSONAL HISTORY OF U.S. GRANT" Some of these are second-state points, and some are third-state points. Backstrip is completely gone. Front and back covers detached from body of book. Contents evenly toned, binding sturdy. Clear candidate for rebinding. NOTE: The size and weight of this volume will require special shipping arrangements.

SISMONDA, EUGENIO - RAMORINO, J.
|
Imprenta Americana, Buenos Aires 1869 - Muy raro. In 8°, 130 pp., (incluye Portada, v. en bl.), 2 h. con figuras, V pp. 2 láminas, grabadas por la Lit. Pelvilain.

Ny samling.
|
- I Kommission hos Wilhelm Prior, København 1869. VIII+546+(2) sider. H.C. Her er breve fra bl.a. Carsten Hauch, H.N.
