Die Inkunabelzeit ist mit 78 Vollbibelausgaben hervorragend vertreten. Die komplizierte Geschichte der Revision des Vulgatatexts kann am Stuttgarter Bestand nahezu lückenlos verfolgt werden. Dasselbe gilt für die Verbreitung von lateinischen Neuübersetzungen aus den hebräischen und griechischen Grundtexten. Insbesondere für die Geschichte der Bibelphilologie bedeutsam sind die ersten Ausgaben der altlateinischen Übersetzungen (Vetus Latina), die im späten 17. und 18. Jahrhundert gedruckt wurden. Aus dem 17. bis 19. Jahrhundert sind daneben zahlreiche kommentierte zweisprachige Ausgaben mit französischen, deutschen und italienischen Übersetzungen zu nennen. Die Katalogbeschreibungen erfassen Revisionsstufen und Textabhängigkeiten, identifizieren die literarischen und künstlerischen Beiträger und verzeichnen die individuellen Buchmerkmale. Mazarine Bibel. Die 42-zeilige Gutenberg Bibel Limitierte Auflage in 250 Exemplaren.

Mainz 1454 - 56 (Faksimile-Nachdruck jüngeren Datums). - 1284 Seiten im Format 40,5 x 30,5cm.300 Jahre nach der Erfindung Gutenbergs entdeckte der Pariser Bibliograph und Buchhändler Guillaume-François de Bure 1763 in der Sammlung des Kardinals Mazarin (1602-61) das erste mit beweglichen Lettern gedruckte Buch, die 42-zeilige Gutenberg-Bibel, wieder. Nur 48 Originale der Gutenberg-Bibel sind heute nachweisbar. Das Exemplar der Bibliothéque Mazarine, an dem die Inkunabelkunde zuerst erkannte, das es sich um Gutenbergs Werk handelt, ist vollständig erhalten und in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Es besteht aus zwei Bänden von 648 und 636 Seiten, zweispaltig gesetzt auf elfenbeinartigem Papier. Die fertigen Bögen wurden entsprechend den Wünschen des Käufers durch Rubrizierungen und Miniaturen verschönert, gebunden und mit einem schützenden Einband versehen. Das Exemplar weist zahlreiche gemalte Initialen auf. Insbesondere verfügt es über in blau und rot gehaltene Initialen am Anfang der Kapitel, welche noch in Mainz ausgeführt worden sind (Mainzer Kalligrafie). Auf einigen Seiten sieht man eine per Hand eingefügte Korrektur, wohl von einem Helfer Gutenbergs, die sich auf die Nummerierung der Seiten bezieht. Von der 42-zeiligen Gutenberg-Bibel gibt es nur 4 hochwertige Faksimile- Ausgaben: von den Exemplaren in Berlin und dem spanischen Burgos, von der Pelplin-Bibel in Polen und der hier vorgestellten Mazarine-Bibel. Für deren Wiedergabe wurde das Original Seite für Seite mit Hilfe einer Linhof Technikardan 9 x12 abgelichtet, jede Initiale gesondert. Ausgehend von den Fotografien wurden Zinkklischees hergestellt, die dann als Druckform für den Buchdruck Hochdruck) des schwarzen Textes dienten. Von diesen Fotografien wurden auch dreifarbige Offsetfilme gezogen, die für die Positionierung der handgemalten Initialen benutzt wurden. Das Papier für dieses Faksimile ist eine Spezialherstellung durch die Papeteries de Lana im Elsaß. Es handelt sich um rein hadernhaltiges 160g/m2-Papier die Wasserzeichen des Originalpapiers, der Ochsenkopf, zweierlei Arten der Weintraube und der laufende Stier, sind detailgetreu wiedergegeben.

DROZ - 9782600006248 Livre usage a l'etat de neuf / Used book as new condition La poésie d’Ange Politien, poète humaniste florentin (1454-1494), présente la topique caractéristique des arts de mémoire (calendrier, liste de vertus, catalogue d'hommes illustres.) qu’il avait appris des orateurs antiques. La présente étude montre que toute l’œuvre d’Ange Politien est un travail de mémoire, que ce soit à une fin politique – l’histoire –, éthique – la quête individuelle du bonheur –ou poétique – la transmission des belles lettres –. L’auteur guide le lecteur à travers la poésie vernaculaire, latine et grecque d’Ange Politien pour en explorer les lieux et les images de mémoire, s’aidant des correspondances avec les œuvres plastiques de la fin du Quattrocento. L'analyse des procédés stylistiques de disposition des lieux et de formation des images conduit à la définition d’une véritable « rhétorique de la mémoire ». Certes fortement influencée par l’art mnémonique cicéronien, la poétique d’Ange Politien – qui fut particulièrement sensible à la conception de la mémoire créatrice de Quintilien – s’avère néanmoins tendre profondément vers un art de l'improvisation. Antique orators taught Angelo Poliziano, a Florentine humanist poet (1454-1494), the theory of the art of memory. His poetry presents the characteristic topics of arts of memory (calendar, list of virtues, catalogue of famous men ). The present study shows that the entire work of Angelo Poliziano is a work of memory, with a political end – history – an ethical end – the individual quest for happiness – or a poetical end – the transmission of literature. The author guides the reader through Angelo Poliziano’s vernacular, Latin and Greek poetry in order to explore the places and images of memory they contain, using relations with plastic works from the end of Quattrocentro. The analysis of stylistic processes regarding the disposition of places and the forming of images leads to the definition of a true « rhetoric of memory ». Though strongly influenced by Cicero’s mnemonic art, Angelo Poliziano’s poetics – which was particularly sensitive to Quintilien’s concept of creative memory – yet turns out to be deeply tending towards an art of improvisation.

- Due volumi di cm. 36,5, cc. 370; 302 (39) [manca la c. bianca in fine al secondo volume, peraltro esemplare assolutamente conforme alla collazione Iccu]. Il primo tomo chiude con il consilium nr. 338 che in realtà corrisponde al nr. 339, il secondo tomo inizia regolarmente con il consilium 340. Splendidi marchi tipografici ai frontespizi. Affascinante legatura coeva in piena perg. rigida con 3 nervi a vista e titoli ms. al taglio di piede. Lievi tracce d'uso alle legature, qualche carta brunita ed alcuni marginali aloni sparsi, trascurabili segni di tarlo lontani dal testo, peraltro esemplare ben conservato. Filippo Decio (1454-1535), celebre commentatore civilista e canonista, insegnò a Pisa, Pavia, Siena, Padova e Roma. Ebbe come discepoli uomini di grandezza indiscussa come Leone X, Cesare Borgia e soprattutto Francesco Guicciardini. Pregevole edizione veneziana che raccoglie i 700 autorevolissimi consilia deciani. un folio (390 x 286 mm) impresso recto e verso, su due colonne di 42 linee. Titoli in alto di pagina dipinti in rosso e blu, iniziale L in blu su tre righe. Foglio singolo, 66.mo (non num.) del volume primo (su due) della Bibbia di Gutenberg, il primo libro al mondo impresso al torchio, che fu l' invenzione fondamentale per la civilta' umana. Gutenberg ne produsse 185 esemplari, dei quali 35 su pergamena, completi di 641 fogli. Oggigiorno ne sono conservati 48 esemplari, completi o quasi. Il presente foglio, di notevole interesse testuale in quanto tratta dell'infedelta' coniugale delle donne, proviene da un esemplare incompleto che era nella biblioteca Sulzbach-Manneihm e poi nella biblioteca Reale di Monaco. Venne venduto da Sotheby's nel 1920 e acquistato dal libraio americamno Gabriel Wells il quale separo' i fogli e li vendette singolarmente come "Noble Fragment", accompagnati da una premessa bibliografica di 4 pp. di Edward Newton e in elegante legatura in pieno marocchino nero di Stikeman. "It is the first and, judging it by the quality of its design and materials, the greatest of all printed books". O - The original Bible dates from 1454 and this facsimile edition of the bible edition is the most significant accomplishment of Johann Gutenberg and a first magnificent test of the type printing he invented. According to a rediscovered letter from the late Pope, Pius II, an "amazing man" (vir mirabilis) appeared at the Reichstag in Frankfurt in October 1454 wishing to offer for sale faultless quires of a bible which could be read comfortably without spectacles. At that time, Gutenberg must have largely completed his planned "work of books" in his printing office in Mainz: 641 printed sheets in 2 volumes with two columns per page (2564 in all). The number of lines was 40 at first and was increased to 42 in the course of the printing process, which is the reason why the bible is quoted according to the number of lines. The translation followed the medieval text tradition and was called "verus et vulgata edito" at thye Council of Trent in 1546. Since then, most printed bibles were based on this text version which became binding for the Catholic church in 1592 (as the "Vulgata"). Forty-eight largely completed copies or individual volumes of Gutenberg's printed bible on parchment and paper and a number of relatively large fragments were preserved. In keeping with the significance of the text, many copies were adorned with magnificent illuminations. The Berlin parchment copy is considered to be one of the finest and was published as a facsimile edition for the first time in 1913-14 by Insel Verlag Leipzig. This facsimile edition was reprinted in the year 2000. The facsimile not only makes this work of art accessible again, but it also variously documents the history of books and technology; in surveys carried out on the occasion of the millennium celebrations, the inventor of type printing was named by many as one of the most important figures of the last 1000 years, and the facsimile of 1913-14 is considered as one of the first culminations of the lithographic reproduction of the ancient art of the book. Si è costituito così un Comitato Organizzatore che ha deciso di promuovere due giornate di studio in suo onore in occasione delle quali venissero trattati temi afferenti agli ambiti di ricerca che Antonio Carlini ha personalmente coltivato o che ha ispirato nel corso della sua intensa attività di maestro. La presenza di tre grandi tematiche (filologia, papirologia, storia dei testi), se da una parte rispecchia la vastità e varietà degli interessi di Antonio Carlini studioso, dall'altra, specularmente, corrisponde anche alla varietà dei campi d'indagine delle persone che nel suo magistero si riconoscono. Da qui la presenza tra i relatori, accanto a insigni studiosi italiani e stranieri, anche di almeno alcuni dei suoi più giovani allievi. Paris, 15 juin, 1454. - grand parchemin (50 x 60 cm), en langue latine, munie de la signature de deux notaires qui ont vidimé l'acte en 1454, apostille au verso ; de petits manques entraînent une légère perte de texte, petites mouillures. Rare acte d'hommage au Roi d'un grand feudataire du royaume, par lequel noble seigneur messire Loys de Beaufort, conte d'Alès, marquis de Canilhac, et viconte de La Motte seigneur d'Anduze, ainsi que baron et seigneur de Baigniolz, fait aveu de ses terres et dépendance pour cause de foy et hommaige. Longue énumération des terres (en latin) tenus par Louis de Beaufort d'après un acte du 29 octobre 1400, des gens des comptes du Roy aux séneschal de Beaucaire, procurateur receveur du Roy, enregistré par le baillit en la chambre des comptes, adveux et dénombremens, collationé et vidimé par devant notaire en juillet 1452 et le 15 juin 1454. Les comtes de Beaufort ont compté parmi les personnages les plus influents du royaume de la seconde moitié du XIVe siècle au XV siècle. La fortune de la famille remonte à Guillaume Rogier de Beaufort, vicomte de Turenne, qui en 1345 épousa Guérine de Canilhac, filleule du roi ; la famille est illustre et donnera deux papes Grégoire XI et Clément VI. On retrouvera ensuite dans la lignée des Beaufort, de grandes familles dont La Tour d'Auvergne, Laval, Beaujeu, Boucicaut, Crequy, Saint-Exupéry, Chabannes, Montboissier Beaucoup se sont disputés leurs titres, faisant le bonheur des avocats et procureurs de l'époque. Les terres furent notamment annexées par Louis d'Anjou, dont sa femme, Marie de Blois comtesse de Provence, revendiquera sans cesse les titres. Il s'agit ici de Louis Rogier de Beaufort, marquis de Canilhac, comte d'Alais, vicomte de La Motte et de Valerne, chevalier et chambellan du roi (1400-1464) qui s'était mariée à Jeanne de Nourry en 1437. Il avait reçut les baronnies de Bagnols et d'Anduze de sa cousine Eleonore, veuve en 1400 du Sire de Beaujeu et unique héritière en ligne directe. Elle s'était mis en possession des riches domaines de sa nièce Antoinette, écartant ainsi de la succession le maréchal de Boucicaut.

Quattro ritratti di Decio: alla seconda carta, all'inizio del commento al Codice, all'inizio dell'indice ed infine all'incipit della Vita Philippi Decii. Bellissimi capilettera figurati. Testo su due colonne. Interessanti note ms. di mano coeva. Affascinante leg. coeva in piena perg. rigida. Dorso (rinforzato verosimilmente nel Settecento) a 4 grossi nervi con titoli in oro su tassello. Piatti ricavati da antico codice tardo medioevale ms. in rosso e nero; titoli ms. al taglio di piede. Manca l'ultima carta bianca. Piccola rosicchiatura ad una punta e conseguentemente all'angolo alto delle ultime carte, piccole mancanze di perg. ai piatti, qualche sporadico e marginale alone, peraltro bell'esemplare, fresco e ben conservato. Filippo Decio (1454-1535), celebre commentatore civilista e canonista, insegnò a Pisa, Pavia, Siena, Padova e Roma. Ebbe come discepoli uomini di grandezza indiscussa come Leone X, Cesare Borgia e soprattutto Francesco Guicciardini. Questa pregevole edizione include i commentari deciani a Digestum Vetus e Codex, lecturae che rappresentarono un punto di riferimento irrinunciabile per la tradizione giuridica cinquecentesca. O - The original Bible dates from 1454 and this facsimile edition of the bible edition is the most significant accomplishment of Johann Gutenberg and a first magnificent test of the type printing he invented. According to a rediscovered letter from the late Pope, Pius II, an "amazing man" (vir mirabilis) appeared at the Reichstag in Frankfurt in October 1454 wishing to offer for sale faultless quires of a bible which could be read comfortably without spectacles. At that time, Gutenberg must have largely completed his planned "work of books" in his printing office in Mainz: 641 printed sheets in 2 volumes with two columns per page (2564 in all). The number of lines was 40 at first and was increased to 42 in the course of the printing process, which is the reason why the bible is quoted according to the number of lines. The translation followed the medieval text tradition and was called "verus et vulgata edito" at thye Council of Trent in 1546. Since then, most printed bibles were based on this text version which became binding for the Catholic church in 1592 (as the "Vulgata"). Forty-eight largely completed copies or individual volumes of Gutenberg's printed bible on parchment and paper and a number of relatively large fragments were preserved. In keeping with the significance of the text, many copies were adorned with magnificent illuminations. The Berlin parchment copy is considered to be one of the finest and was published as a facsimile edition for the first time in 1913-14 by Insel Verlag Leipzig. This facsimile edition was reprinted in the year 2000. The facsimile not only makes this work of art accessible again, but it also variously documents the history of books and technology; in surveys carried out on the occasion of the millennium celebrations, the inventor of type printing was named by many as one of the most important figures of the last 1000 years, and the facsimile of 1913-14 is considered as one of the first culminations of the lithographic reproduction of the ancient art of the book. O The original Bible dates from 1454 and this facsimile edition of the bible edition is the most significant accomplishment of Johann Gutenberg and a first magnificent test of the type printing he invented. According to a rediscovered letter from the late Pope, Pius II, an "amazing man" (vir mirabilis) appeared at the Reichstag in Frankfurt in October 1454 wishing to offer for sale faultless quires of a bible which could be read comfortably without spectacles. At that time, Gutenberg must have largely completed his planned "work of books" in his printing office in Mainz: 641 printed sheets in 2 volumes with two columns per page (2564 in all). The number of lines was 40 at first and was increased to 42 in the course of the printing process, which is the reason why the bible is quoted according to the number of lines. The translation followed the medieval text tradition and was called "verus et vulgata edito" at thye Council of Trent in 1546. Since then, most printed bibles were based on this text version which became binding for the Catholic church in 1592 (as the "Vulgata"). Forty-eight largely completed copies or individual volumes of Gutenberg's printed bible on parchment and paper and a number of relatively large fragments were preserved. In keeping with the significance of the text, many copies were adorned with magnificent illuminations. The Berlin parchment copy is considered to be one of the finest and was published as a facsimile edition for the first time in 1913-14 by Insel Verlag Leipzig. This facsimile edition was reprinted in the year 2000. The facsimile not only makes this work of art accessible again, but it also variously documents the history of books and technology; in surveys carried out on the occasion of the millennium celebrations, the inventor of type printing was named by many as one of the most important figures of the last 1000 years, and the facsimile of 1913-14 is considered as one of the first culminations of the lithographic reproduction of the ancient art of the book. Quattro ritratti di Decio: alla seconda carta, all'inizio del commento al Codice, all'inizio dell'indice ed infine all'incipit della Vita Philippi Decii. Bellissimi capilettera figurati. Testo su due colonne. Interessanti note ms. di mano coeva. Affascinante leg. coeva in piena perg. rigida. Dorso (rinforzato verosimilmente nel Settecento) a 4 grossi nervi con titoli in oro su tassello. Piatti ricavati da antico codice tardo medioevale ms. in rosso e nero; titoli ms. al taglio di piede. Manca l'ultima carta bianca. Piccola rosicchiatura ad una punta e conseguentemente all'angolo alto delle ultime carte, piccole mancanze di perg. ai piatti, qualche sporadico e marginale alone, peraltro bell'esemplare, fresco e ben conservato. Filippo Decio (1454-1535), celebre commentatore civilista e canonista, insegnò a Pisa, Pavia, Siena, Padova e Roma. Ebbe come discepoli uomini di grandezza indiscussa come Leone X, Cesare Borgia e soprattutto Francesco Guicciardini. Questa pregevole edizione include i commentari deciani a Digestum Vetus e Codex, lecturae che rappresentarono un punto di riferimento irrinunciabile per la tradizione giuridica cinquecentesca. Johann Gutenberg, Mainz, Germany 1454 Original Leaf from a Gutenberg Bible (Ezekiel 39:7 - 40:27) also known as the Mazarin Bible and the 42-Line Bible. Printed in Mainz, Germany circa 1454-55 by Johann Gutenberg, the first book printed with the movable type and press that Gutenberg himself had developed. Without a doubt, the most important book ever printed. This new technology allowed entire books to be printed in quantity by machine quickly, in hours or days, instead of handwritten by scribes one at a time, taking months or even years. It is thought that about 180 complete copies were produced, 135 on paper, the rest on vellum. More than half of this total has been lost to the ages and there are only five complete copies currently known in the United States. An old tradition of booksellers and collectors is that, if a fine old volume is incomplete or damaged, then it is proper to sell the leaves individually. Since a complete Gutenberg Bible would cost millions (if you could find one for sale), here is an opportunity to own a leaf from this landmark of Western civilization. This particular leaf has been trimmed on one side approximately 0.75" into one column of text. The overall size of the leaf is 8.25" x 13". It is also closely trimmed at the top margin, but no text is affected- all 42 lines are present. There is one large rubricated drop cap at the beginning of the 40th chapter. There is some soiling, minor holes in the wide side margin, a paper clip indention, and red ink offset from the facing page. Still, a very rare opportunity for collectors. Mazarine Bibel. Die 42-zeilige Gutenberg Bibel

Limitierte Auflage in 250 Exemplaren. Mainz 1454 - 56 (Faksimile-Nachdruck jüngeren Datums). 1284 Seiten im Format 40,5 x 30,5cm. 300 Jahre nach der Erfindung Gutenbergs entdeckte der Pariser Bibliograph und Buchhändler Guillaume-François de Bure 1763 in der Sammlung des Kardinals Mazarin (1602-61) das erste mit beweglichen Lettern gedruckte Buch, die 42-zeilige Gutenberg-Bibel, wieder. Nur 48 Originale der Gutenberg-Bibel sind heute nachweisbar. Das Exemplar der Bibliothéque Mazarine, an dem die Inkunabelkunde zuerst erkannte, das es sich um Gutenbergs Werk handelt, ist vollständig erhalten und in einem hervorragenden Zustand. Es besteht aus zwei Bänden von 648 und 636 Seiten, zweispaltig gesetzt auf elfenbeinartigem Papier. Die fertigen Bögen wurden entsprechend den Wünschen des Käufers durch Rubrizierungen und Miniaturen verschönert, gebunden und mit einem schützenden Einband versehen. Das Exemplar weist zahlreiche gemalte Initialen auf. Insbesondere verfügt es über in blau und rot gehaltene Initialen am Anfang der Kapitel, welche noch in Mainz ausgeführt worden sind (Mainzer Kalligrafie). Auf einigen Seiten sieht man eine per Hand eingefügte Korrektur, wohl von einem Helfer Gutenbergs, die sich auf die Nummerierung der Seiten bezieht. Von der 42-zeiligen Gutenberg-Bibel gibt es nur 4 hochwertige Faksimile- Ausgaben: von den Exemplaren in Berlin und dem spanischen Burgos, von der Pelplin-Bibel in Polen und der hier vorgestellten Mazarine-Bibel. Für deren Wiedergabe wurde das Original Seite für Seite mit Hilfe einer Linhof Technikardan 9 x12 abgelichtet, jede Initiale gesondert. Ausgehend von den Fotografien wurden Zinkklischees hergestellt, die dann als Druckform für den Buchdruck Hochdruck) des schwarzen Textes dienten. Von diesen Fotografien wurden auch dreifarbige Offsetfilme gezogen, die für die Positionierung der handgemalten Initialen benutzt wurden. Das Papier für dieses Faksimile ist eine Spezialherstellung durch die Papeteries de Lana im Elsaß. Es handelt sich um rein hadernhaltiges 160g/m2-Papier; die Wasserzeichen des Originalpapiers, der Ochsenkopf, zweierlei Arten der Weintraube und der laufende Stier, sind detailgetreu wiedergegeben.
